Advertising for KDP Select

Wow! If this was a pitch for a movie script it would have to be called Google Adwords meets the Kindle Store. Except Google is not involved. Amazon now has a program like Google Adwords wherein Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) authors or publishers can buy advertising on Amazon for their books through Amazon Marketing Services (AMS).
The cost of the advertising is on a CPC (cost-per-click) basis, which means your book is displayed in an ad, and if someone clicks on the ad, you’re charged whatever price you set for a click. Of course, you’re competing with other advertisers for the spot on the page. Amazon calls it an “auction” for position.
